The Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) organized a week-long Pre-promotion Training Course for the officers and officials of the National Assembly Secretariat from August 5th to 10th, 2024, at its campus in Islamabad. A total of eighty (80) officers and officials attended the promotional course. The training comprised a combination of sessions pertinent to the overall working of the National Assembly Secretariat, including Office Procedures, Service Laws (including the National Assembly Service Rules 2022), and Noting and Drafting.
The program commenced on August 5th, 2024, with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a program overview given by Ms. Samer Awais, Director General of the Parliamentary Development Program & Coordination (PDP&C). She welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the training. She highlighted that the course was tailored specifically to equip the officials with the essential knowledge and skills required for their roles.
Mr. Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka, the worthy Executive Director of the PIPS in his welcome remarks, assured the participants that this valuable learning opportunity would develop the relevant skill set and parliamentary knowledge required for effective performance in their roles at the Parliament.
The five-day pre-promotion training program for National Assembly Secretariat officers and officials was moderated by Dr. Moazzam Jan Bakhtiar (Finance and Accounts Office, National Assembly of Pakistan), Syed Irfan Iqbal Shah (Assistant Director of Research, National Assembly of Pakistan), and Mr. Badar-ul-Arifeen. The participants took a comprehensive exam at the end of the training. The program concluded on August 10th, 2024.
